Deux Design is a multi-disciplinary studio borne from the minds and eyes of Dana Burton and Dennis Dix in 2001. As designers, Burton and Dix have been exploring neon as an alternative medium for lighting and environmental graphics since 1983 with their firm City Lights Neon. Deux Design was launched as a reaction to numerous requests from clients to develop brand strategies including, interiors, and brand artifacts. The partners didn't want to lose their brand as City Lights Neon but realized their personal desires to grow and experiment felt stifled. Collaborators in life and business Burton and Dix are Deux Design. The business is located in an open two story building that was built by the city and formerly housed the park police. The space now accommodates their living, studio and workshop from which they design and build.

They believe in a wholistic creative approach to their work and enjoy a shared interest and understanding of materials and technologies. Coupled with curiosity, this facilitates their designs and the fresh interpretation they initiate in collaboration. Burton and Dix invest themselves in divergent passions and are influenced through travel and avocation which heightens the value added experience they contribute to every project in which they are involved. Their interests include cooking and wine, outsider and untrained art, etymology, jazz and world music, film and photography, gardening, eastern cultures, color theory, modernism, eco-everything, .... This brand of unique double vision is reflected in the broad range of creative services they offer to corporate, commercial and residential clients.
